Lisa Durupt photo

Lisa Durupt

Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Lisa Durupt has established herself as fierce, funny, and fearless talent in film and television. A talented ice hockey player growing up, she earned a scholarship to an American university until surgery postponed her arrival. On a whim, she registered at the University of Winnipeg and after attending a local performance of A Chorus Line for her theatre class, Lisa traded sports for the arts and went on to study theatre at the University of Winnipeg and the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Lisa's natural athleticism gave her a natural entry into the film industry as a dancer and stunt performer. Following early appearances in films like Shall We Dance and The Lazarus Project, Lisa was cast by Canadian comedy veteran Mark McKinney on the series, Less Than Kind, as the temperamental Shandra. Lisa's unfiltered energy and gift for ad-libbing over four seasons of the show was highlighted by a Gemini Award nomination in 2010 for Best Individual Performance in a Comedy Program or Series and a Leo Award nomination for Best Performance in a Music, Comedy, or Variety Program or Series in 2013. After a string of appearances across film and television projects such as The Pastor's Wife, The Color of Rain, Run for Your Life, and Supernatural, Lisa Durupt won her most substantial cinematic role thus far as the overly competitive sister of Sonja Bennett in Preggoland, a performance that earned Lisa her second Leo Award nomination in 2015 for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture. While she continues to work steadily on film, Lisa is presently enjoying another steady run on television as Andrea Todd - sister to Alison Sweeney's Hannah Swensen - on Murder She Baked, the Hallmark Channel screen adaptations of the best-selling mystery novel series of the same name.

It was not until 1999 that Lane earned further recognition for her role in A Walk on the Moon, and that was followed by her performance alongside George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg in the 2000 blockbuster The Perfect Storm. She was especially lauded and honored for the 2002 film Unfaithful, which earned her Satellite, New York Film Critics Circle, and National Society of Film Critics awards for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama). She was also highly lauded by critics for her performance in the immediately subsequent film Under the Tuscan Sun. For much of the rest of the decade, she alternately appeared as a lead actress in romantic films such as Must Love Dogs (2005) and Nights in Rodanthe (2008), and thrillers such as Fierce People (2005), Hollywoodland (2006), and Untraceable (2008). Robert Young

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Robert William Young (born 16 March 1933) is a British television and film director. Young was born in Cheltenham, and in the 1980s and early 1990s, established himself as a leading director of British TV drama. In the 1970s, he directed Vampire Circus (1972) and Hammer House of Horror. He directed several episodes of Minder and Bergerac in the early 1980s, and the acclaimed TV serial The Mad Death which centred around a rabies outbreak. Perhaps his best remembered television work was on Robin of Sherwood, for which he directed many of the best-regarded episodes. Young moved towards black comedy in the early 1990s, directing Jeeves and Wooster based on the stories written by P.G. Wodehouse, and GBH, for which he was nominated for a BATA award. It was partly on the strength of GBH that he was assigned to direct Fierce Creatures, John Cleese's 1997 follow-up to A Fish Called Wanda, which featured many of the same cast as GBH. However, the production ran into problems and Fred Schepisi was brought in to finalise the movie. Young did, however, direct Splitting Heirs, which starred Cleese and Eric Idle. Young has continued to work on television drama since then. Description above from the Wikipedia article Robert Young (director), licensed under CC-BY-SA, full list of contributors on Wikipedia.
