Trailer Drop: Netflix’s The Rip Reunites Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in a Gritty Crime Thriller

Netflix has officially unveiled the first trailer for The Rip, its upcoming crime thriller starring longtime collaborators Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Released as a surprise drop, the trailer immediately sets the tone for a tense, character-driven story steeped in betrayal, ambition, and moral gray areas.

A Dangerous Discovery

Directed and written by Joe Carnahan (Narc, The Grey), The Rip follows a group of Miami police officers whose lives are thrown into chaos after discovering millions of dollars hidden inside a stash house. What begins as a seemingly lucky break quickly turns into a nightmare, as trust erodes within the team and powerful outside forces start closing in.

Damon & Affleck Back Together

At the center of The Rip is the reunion of Damon and Affleck, whose on-screen chemistry once again takes center stage. Their dynamic suggests a partnership strained by temptation and paranoia, adding emotional weight to the film’s high-stakes setup. Both actors also serve as producers under their Artists Equity banner.
