Overview

Dewey Finn, a down-on-his-luck rock musician with an outsized ego and zero patience for adult responsibilities, stumbles upon an unexpected opportunity: impersonating a substitute teacher at an elite prep school. Discovering a trove of untapped musical talent among his students, Dewey ignites a revolution, transforming prim classrooms into a stage for raw, unadulterated rock and roll, all while secretly plotting his return to the spotlight and a shot at the Battle of the Bands.
