Overview

On a remote New England island in the summer of 1965, two troubled youngsters ignite an extraordinary adventure. A scout, brimming with an earnest, if misplaced, sense of duty, and a rebellious girl with a heart full of wild ideas, decide to run away together. Their bold escape unleashes a chain of events that brings the island’s eccentric inhabitants, from a stoic police captain to a pair of disillusioned parents and a troop of khaki-clad boys, into a whimsical, desperate pursuit, ultimately forcing them all to confront the chaotic beauty of love, family, and belonging.
