Overview

In the sun-baked, sprawling metropolis of 1930s Los Angeles, private investigator Jake Gittes, a man well-versed in the city's shadowed underbelly, is hired for what seems like a routine infidelity case. His investigation, however, quickly plunges him into a labyrinth of deception, corruption, and chilling secrets that reach to the very heart of power and influence in the water-rich landscape. As Gittes navigates a treacherous world of broken trust and moral decay, he finds himself entangled in a conspiracy far grander and more sinister than he could have imagined, a mire where innocence is a dangerous illusion and the truth is a commodity more precious and perilous than gold.
